This area is renowned for being one of the few nesting sites for the protected loggerhead turtle. Drinks are available from the shaded beach bar until early morning and the taverna, also in the grounds, offers lunches and evening meals. Breakfast is included in the price of the accommodation, served in the shady taverna. All other meals are extra and and paid for at the time of eating, as are the drinks from the beach bar. Situated on the main highway makes it convenient to travel the short distance to Chania or Rethymno. The public bus service is approx every half hour throughout the day until late evening. Beach umbrellas and sun-beds are available and provided free to residents. There are also small swings for toddlers to use.
